In today’s stressful world, every third person suffers from back pain at some time or the other in their lives, especially those who work on computer most of the time or people who drive long distance daily.
There are different types of back pain. Lower back pain, upper back pain, upper and middle back pain, neck pain or back pain in scatia. While some back pain are minor and can be handled with some regular exercise, others are acute and long lasting. This acute back pain must be treated with utmost priority. Generally, a person suffering from back pain neglects treatment, thereby making their problems worse and chances of recovery becomes zero.
Back pain that occurs due to bad posture, or putting too much pressure on the back muscles by pulling heavy weight can be cured by taking some simple steps. When sudden back pain occurs, one should simply lie on the bed and take rest for at least 24 hours.
To get rid of back pain heat and ice therapy are also very useful. A message of little hot mustard oil with garlic dipped in it can help to reduce back ache. Steaming with hot towel on effected area can also help.
However, if back pain persist for more then two or three days and is accompanied by chest pain, fever, breathlessness or stomach pain and further spreading in other parts of the body like legs, hands, feet etc. then immediately consult your doctor. Exercise under the supervision of licensed physiotherapist can be an effective treatment. Muscle relaxant medicines and anti-inflammatory drugs and injection are also prescribed by doctors to reduce the effect of the pain.
Acupuncture is becoming popular and effective treatment to get rid of back pain as well. Doctors are focusing on relaxation therapy these days for emotional causes to reduce back pain. Back pains due to injuries are mostly cured by surgery.
