Foot Pain Causes
Many people around the world suffer from foot pain at one or the other point in their life. Foot pain just causes discomfort or harmless pain which is the reason why people do not give much importance to the foot pain.

The various conditions and reasons behind foot pain are weight gain, increasing age, pregnancy, dance, sports, injuries or any direct or indirect external force which causes damage to the foot structure. Injuries include muscle strains, fractures, ligament sprains etc. Other reasons include running on uneven ground or any surface which is too hard or too soft.
Also, poorly fitting shoes often cause foot pain. Wearing shoes which does not fit properly, tightly tied shoes or high heels cause major pain in feet. Ill-fitted shoes are the main reasons behind feet blisters, Athlete’s foot, bruises, irritation of nerves or joints, misalignment of toes etc.
The other causes behind foot pain are high impact exercise like jogging or strenuous aerobics causing injuries like muscle cramps, corns, calluses, acute knee and ankle injuries, planter fasciitis and metatarsalgia. Arthritis, osteoporosis and gout can also cause foot pain.
Certain medications like calcitonin and drugs used for high blood pressure, diabetes are also the causes behind foot swelling.
The foot pain called Achilles Tendon which is the tendon joining the calf muscle and the bone is caused due to excessive sports activities or arthritis. Bunions, causing major pain and discomfort cause inflammation in the joint which leads to swelling, hard, red and sore skin formation.
Athletes and runners often encounter with the problem of shin pain or shin splints causing inflammation in the front side of shin bone. Shin pain occurs due to tight leg muscles and muscle imbalances caused due to improper running posture. Other foot pain includes Morton’s Neuroma causing numbness and pain in the toes due to nerve compression. To overcome from all these problems it is recommended to consult a doctor or a podiatrist.
