Fibromyalgia Symptoms
Fibromyalgia is a type disease in which muscles are mainly affected. This problem is commonly found in women and millions of people, especially women, suffer from fibromyalgia worldwide.
Some symptoms of fibromyalgia are mentioned below.
Neuromuscular pain is one of the most common symptoms found in its patients. This pain may be experienced in whole body. The patient of fibromyalgia also experiences fatigue without any obvious reason. In response to allodynia the pain in the patients is accelerated. Muscle spasms are a very common symptom of fibromyalgia in its patients.
Headache is also one of the major symptoms of fibromyalgia. The patient suffers from headache without any clear reason. Since fibromyalgia affects the brain also hence brain shows many symptoms of it. You can suffer from memory loss or temporary memory loss or very weak memory. Many patients are unable to concentrate on any task and they are unable to remember anything. Such kind of brain disorders which arise due to fibromyalgia are also called as ‘brain fog’ or ‘fibrofog’. The patients’ mood also changes in fibromyalgia which is known as mood swings.
In some cases, fibromyalgia symptoms also look alike depression or anxiety symptoms.
Nervous system of the patient of fibromyalgia is also affected and the patient experiences nerve pain due to it.
In most patients skin also shows symptoms of fibromyalgia. For example if your skin tingles you should consider it as a symptom of fibromyalgia.
Sleep of fibromyalgia patient is very much affected. Its patients are unable to sleep well at night and they have to get up many times at night during sleep or they remain wide awake for hours which also resemble the symptom of insomnia.
Apart from muscle weakness, fibromyalgia patients may also experience weakness in their limbs.
Myofascial pain syndrome is also a symptom of fibromyalgia.
Besides above mentioned symptoms of fibromyalgia there are some other symptoms of it such as tenderness in neck and shoulders. Other areas which are affected are thigh, upper buttocks, elbow and knee. They also get the feeling of numbness in most parts of their body such as in hands, face, feet etc.
Fibromyalgia patients also suffer from irritable bowel syndrome. Other stomach disorders could be experienced as pain in abdomen, constipation, bloating etc.
