Honey Oatmeal Facial: Oatmeal helps in removing excess oil from the face and works as an exfoliating agent as well. Honey binds the oatmeal and yogurt in addition to being a good antiseptic. You need 2 tablespoons of honey, ¼ cup of buttermilk or plain yougurt and ½ cup of oatmeal for this facial mask.
Grind the oatmeal to its powdery form in a food processor. Mix the yogurt and honey in a bowl and then add the grinded oatmeal powder to the mixture. Blend properly until you get a smooth and thick paste.
Apply the mixture evenly over your face and neck. After about 15 minues later rinse off the mask with warm water and dry the face with a soft towel.
Almond Facial Milk: This facial technique is extremely soothing and contains herbal waters for antiseptic and toning purposes. You can also opt to use grapefruit seed as a preservative.
You need to prepare rose or lavendar water first. This can be done by soaking a handful of dried rose or lavendar petals in boiling water inside a jar. Make sure to use only organic flowers though. Keep the jar covered throughout the night and the next day, filter out the water into a small bottle.
Use this water to make a mixture that also contains 1 teaspoon of vegetable glycerin (pure form), 1 teaspoon of organic almond oil (cooled and pressed) and grapefruit seed extracts (12 drops to be precise).
Transfer the mixture into a glass jar and shake nicely to blend the ingredients properly. Keep the mixture stored in a refrigerator. When you want a facial, pour a little amount of the mixture on your hand and massage it into your skin firmly. You can also use a cotton ball for the massage. Don’t use the mixture for more than a month though.
Pineapple and Olive Oil Facial: Pineapple plays a vital role in ridding the skin off dirt and dead cells. This is achieved by bromelaid, a protein digestive enzyme that can be found in abundance in the fruit.
Olive Oil is high in Vitamin E and is extremely useful in healing and restoring the moisture in the skin’s surface. However, don’t opt for any olive oil you can find at the market. Opt only for the best brand.
Mix about 4 chunks of pineapples with 3 tablespoons of olive oil in a blender. Alternatively, you can opt for 1/2 cup of canned pineapples. Blend the mixture until it becomes smooth.
Apply the facial mask to the face in a circular motion. After about 15 minutes, rinse off the mask with warm water and pat your face dry with a soft towel.
Apple Cucumber Facial Mask: You will need a food processor to make this facial mix. Accordingly, the mixture should contain a thick slice of apple, ½ cucumber (peeled), ½ teaspoon of lemon jucie, 1 drop of essential oil (lime flavored), mint leaves and an egg white.
Apart from oil, add all the other ingredients to the food processor and process the mixture until it becomes smooth. Remove the mixture and add the essential oil to it. Blend well to make sure that the oil dissolves in the mixture. Keep the mixture in the refrigerator for about 10 minutes.
Apple cucumber facials can be used only for a maximum of 3 days after which they need to be discarded. When applying the mixture to your face, make sure to cover the surface of the face and neck evenly. Leave the mask on for about 20 minutes and then rinse off with warm water.
