Effective Tips For Treating Chest Acne

Home Remedies for Chest Acne
Follow proper hygiene. Wash yourself every day with a medicated soap and lukewarm water especially if you go gymming, play sports or tend to sweat a lot. When we sweat the pores on the skin become filled with the oil that our body secretes.
This oil is called sebum and it clogs the pores of the skin. Clogging of pores results in formation of acne. In order to avoid acne it is important that you keep your skin clean at all times. Washing the chest with medicated soap will also effectively take care of bacteria causing acne present on the skin.
Exfoliate the skin to clean the clogged pores. Buy a gentle scrub like strawberry scrub or prepare your own scrub at home to exfoliate. To use a homemade scrub mix two tablespoon oatmeal powder with one teaspoon chickpea powder and a pinch of turmeric.
Add a little rosewater to make a paste. Apply this paste all over your chest and leave for 2 minutes. Then scrub your chest using the paste while taking care not to burst open any pus-filled acne. Scrub for five minutes and then wash off the paste using lukewarm water. Another good exfoliating agent is baking soda and can be used for exfoliating the skin on the chest. Exfoliation will open the clogged pores cleaning them inside out.
Before going to bed at night apply a thin layer of turmeric mixed in freshly squeezed lemon juice on the chest. Let the mixture dry before wearing an old shirt and hitting the bed. The lemon juice might tingle the acne but that is only because the acid in the lemon is helping the acne heal. Wash off the paste in the morning using medicated soap and water.
Take leaves of Indian Lilac and boil them in water. Once the water starts boiling remove from heat and allow to cool. Strain the infusion on cooling. Crush the boiled leaves to form a paste and apply the paste on the acne on the chest. Leave the paste for 20 minutes.
After 20 minutes wash off the area using the strained water and then clean with clear water. Repeat this treatment every alternate day. Indian lilac is excellent for treating chest acne. It will give you a clear and clean skin in a month’s time without leaving any tell-tale scars.
Take an aloe vera leaf and get rid of its peel. Take the gel from inside the leaf and apply it all over your chest taking care to cover the acne well. Leave for 15 minutes and then remove. Do not wash the area with water. Aloe vera has an anti-bacterial property which makes it an excellent remedy for treating acne. The gel also soothes the irritated and red acne pustules.
Use tea tree essential oil to treat chest acne. Dilute six drops of tea tree essential oil with two tablespoons rosewater. Apply the mixture of oil and rosewater on your acne. Leave the mixture to dry. Do not wash. Repeat the application of tea tree essential oil mixed with rosewater after every couple of hours for a period of two weeks. At the end of the two weeks you chest acne will be gone without leaving scars behind.
Coarsely powder two large cinnamon sticks and add one a teaspoon of powdered nutmeg to it. Mix the cinnamon and nutmeg powder with a little water and rub it on the chest. Cinnamon and nutmeg have anti-bacterial properties that are very beneficial for treating acne.
The two herbs also effectively remove blackheads that are the main reason for formation of acne. The exfoliating properties of cinnamon will penetrate the clogged pores and effectively clear them off dirt, grime, dead skin cells and sebum. The skin pores will be clean and infection free in no time.
Have patience while you perform these home treatments. Chest acne will not clear off overnight. You will need to use the remedies for at least a month to see considerable changes in your skin.
Along with these treatments it is important that you eat a healthy diet to keep the chest acne at bay forever. Do not eat fried foods and foods rich in calories. Instead stick to well-balanced meals of vitamins, proteins, fiber, carbohydrates and minerals. Eat lots of green vegetables, fruits, whole grains and cereals. Remember, what you eat will show on your skin.
Drink plenty of water through the day; drinking at least 10-12 glasses of water is the recommended number. Water will keep your skin hydrated and will effectively flush out the toxins from your body. A toxins-free body is healthy from inside as well as outside.
Do not pick on the acne. Picking on the cane will not only make them worse but also spread the acne causing bacteria to other parts of the body. Picking on your acne will also leave behind scars that will be hard to get rid of.
Wear fresh underclothes at all times. Clean garments greatly reduce your risk of catching any infection. It also important not to share your personal belongings likes clothes and towels with other people.
Do not stress over the acne. Stressing is the major cause of acne formation and taking stress about the acne often worsens the condition.
Consult a dermatologist of you find the acne worsening or if there is no improvement in the acne despite using the home remedies. Your doctor will prescribe you oral and topical medications to deal with chest acne.
