Delicious Recipes for Christmas Cookies
The wonderful scent of spices and cinnamon filled in your house can boost your Christmas spirit to a great extent. Start early this season and bake ahead of time to ease your stress that can often soar during this time of the year. Therefore, in order to enjoy the holiday season, plan ahead and bake your Christmas Cookies early this year with these delicious recipes.
Cream Cookies
Sugar (1 cup)
Salt (½ teaspoon)
Eggs (2 nos.)
Baking soda (¼ teaspoon)
Sour Cream (2/3 cup)
Flour (3 cups)
Water (1 tablespoon)
Raisins
Beat sugar and egg together till they become fluffy and light. Add salt to it. Mix soda in little water and mix with sour cream. Add both mixtures together and add flour to it. Mix properly and then pour it on a waxed paper or floured board. Create a layer of about ¼ inches and then cut using a cookie cutter in any shape of your choice. Lay them down on a greased baking dish and place one raising on each cookie. Bake the cookies at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.
Peanut Cookies
Butter or Margarine (1/3 cup)
Sugar (2/3 cup)
Milk (3 tablespoons)
Egg (1 nos.)
Salt (1/3 teaspoon)
Pastry flour (1 ½ cups)
Baking Powder (1 ½ teaspoons)
Chopped Peanuts (1 ½ cups)
Mix butter and sugar together till it becomes creamy. Add well beaten eggs and milk. Sift in flour, baking powder and salt. Add a cup of chopped peanuts. Add all this to the mixture of sugar and butter. Beat all ingredients together well. Drop small heaps of the mixtures on greased cookie dish at a distance of 3 inches from each other. Keeping space between each cookie is important as cookies will spread out during baking. Sprinkle the cookies with nuts. Bake for 10 – 15 minutes at 350 degrees.
Nut Drop Cookies
Butter or Margarine (1/4 cup)
Milk (2 tablespoons)
Egg (1 nos.)
Sugar (½ cup)
Baking Powder (1 teaspoon)
Pastry flour (1 1/3 cups)
Salt (¼ teaspoon)
Chopped Nuts (2/3 cup)
Mix sugar and butter and beat till it becomes creamy and light. Add milk and properly beaten eggs. Add sifted flour, baking powder and salt to the first mixture. Add chopped nuts to the mixture. Drop on a greased cookie sheet using a teaspoon 3 inches apart from each other. Sprinkle chopped nuts on top. Bake at 350 degrees in an oven for 10 minutes.
You can make a few batches and keep them in the freezer till your friends and family are ready to devour them during Christmas.
