Dandruff Home Remedies

It is more aggravated in the winters, there are some specialized shampoos available in the market for treating dandruff but they have to be used regularly and as soon as you stop using them, the dandruff comes back. There are specially formulated shampoos that can be prescribed by a dermatologist if your problem persists.

Here are some common cures that can be made at home. You would be surprised that some of these natural cures can give some excellent results. Fenugreek seeds can be one of the most effective cures for dandruff. Take two tablespoon of fenugreek seeds and soak them in water overnight and ground them into a paste in the morning. Apply this all over the hair and keep it in for about half an hour. Then wash the hair with some soap nut solution to acacia concinna to get the best results.

Beet can help in effectively getting rid of dandruff. Take both the tops and roots of the beet and boil it in water and this water has to be massaged in the scalp with the fingers every night. This will visibly reduce the flakes that are associated with dandruff.

You can grate some snake ground and then take out the juice and apply this on the scalp everyday in the night. This helps in treating and preventing dandruff as well.

Take one teaspoon of limejuice and use it as the last rinse after you shampoo your hair. This will make your hair shiny. This also helps in removing the stickiness and also prevents dandruff.

You can mix two teaspoon pure vinegar along with six teaspoons of water and apply it on the scalp. Tie a towel around the head and got o bed. Wash it next morning and rinse it with vinegar water. This should be done once a week for at least three months.

Dandruff can also be removed by massaging the hair for half an hour with curd. You can even use cider vinegar as a final rinse after shampooing your hair; this will help in reducing the dandruff. You can even wash your hair with two tablespoon of green gram powder mixed with half a cup of curd.

Take around two cups of water and add four to five tablespoon of dried thyme in it let it boil for about 10 minutes. Cool the solution and strain it. Use this mixture to massage the scalp. Keep it for half an hour and then wash it off.

Almond oil can reduce the itchiness considerably, just massage some almond oil in the scalp and dip a towel in a warm water and wrap it on your head. Keep on repeating the towel treatment till it is cold.

These are a few precautions that will help to keep dandruff at bay. You have to remember to keep the hair and scalp clean, regular shampooing can do this. Brush your hair daily in order to avoid the accumulation of any dead cells that can facilitate the growth of dandruff in it.

Shampooing your hair regularly can get rid of the excessive oil from the hair. It is the accumulation of excessive oil in the scalp that leads to dandruff. There are times when a particular brand may not be meant to remove the dandruff from the scalp. If you are buying an anti dandruff shampoo from over the counter range then remember to check the label carefully. It should contain zinc pyrithione. This will help to reduce the fungus in the hair that will aggravate the dandruff.

Salicylic acid, which helps in removing the dead skin from the scalp that helps in reducing the flakes as well as the itchiness in the scalp.

To keep dandruff from occurring again remember to take at least two liters of water every day. Eat lots of green vegetables and fresh fruits.
