Choosing the Right Curtain
Curtain is an integral part of your house décor. The right type of curtain can increase the beauty of your room whereas a mismatched curtain gives your home a horrible look.
Curtains are available in different colors, styles, prints and also of different prices. All types of curtain are not suitable for everyone’s home.
Before choosing a curtain for a room you have to keep many things in mind – the measurement of the room, the purpose of the room, the design of other furniture, amount of sunrays it gets and of course the budget.
Before buying the cloth decide whether you want to use different cloth for different rooms or you will use the same for all rooms. Measure properly the length otherwise you will get in trouble if the cloth is not enough. It is really impossible to find out same shade and design in future once the stock is finished.
One determining factor for the choice of curtains is how much light the room gets at day time. If it gets enough sunlight you can use dark shades and heavy materials for the curtain.
This may help to give your room a cooler look and protect your furniture from scorching sun light. But if your room gets scanty sunlight avoid dark colored curtains. Use some bright colors – orange, yellow or leaf green for this purpose. Moreover, keep in mind that one of the uses of the curtain is to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the room.
If you are choosing curtains for your children’s room go for the floral prints or print of their favorite cartoons. Dull or drab colors do not suit their room because it creates a monotonous atmosphere.
Dull and drab colors are a hindrance to the child’s energy. Too many bright or shocking colors are bad for their eyes also. So use colors like orange, peach, canary yellow, pink, etc. which are bright as well as energetic in your child’s room. Orange itself is the color of energy and vitality.
For your bedroom one neutral color or small prints goes well. Small checks or stripes goes well in the living room. Do not hesitate to spend a little bit more on the curtain of the living room because it is the room where you receive your guests and which plays an important role to create an impression on your guests.
