Below are some breathing exercises for relaxation, which will help you to have a great start to the day, as well as get a great deal of relief from stress.

Morning Breathing:

This breathing exercise helps reduce muscle stiffness and clears clogged respiratory passages. Morning breathing is done by bending forward at the waist with your knees slightly bent and your arms hanging to your sides. Inhale slowly and bring your body up as you do so. Hold your breath for a while and then exhale while bending again.

Rhythmic Breathing:

This type of breathing can ease exhaustion and calm a person down. Sit on the floor with your legs crossed and your head, neck and chest straight. Take a deep breath counting to 6 and then exhale slowly, counting to 6.

Alternate Breathing:

This exercise is great when it comes to stabilising the mind. Sit on the floor with your legs crossed and with your thumb on your right nostril. Inhale with your left nostril and hold your breath, counting to 8. Now hold your thumb on your left nostril, and exhale slowly from your right nostril. Repeat these exercises, alternating the nostrils that you hold down and inhale and exhale.
