Body Mist Recipe
Body mists are water or alcohol based sprays that are lightly scented with perfume based oils. They are a great way to keep you refreshed throughout the day.
The bottles used for packaging body mists are medium sized with nozzles that cover a larger area when pressed for spray. Body mists can be expensive buys therefore a good idea is to prepare them at home. Making body mists at home is both cost effective and easy.
You will require water, non-scented alcohol like vodka, perfumed oils and a clean dry nozzle based bottle to store the mist in. Alcohol is required because it will mix with the scented oils and which will release fragrance when the mist will be sprayed. If you chose not to use alcohol the perfumed oils won’t mix with water and instead settle down at the bottom of the bottle. The mist that will be sprayed will be plain non-fragrant water.
Essential oils can also be used instead of perfumed oils. Essential oils like orange, lavender oil, rose, mint and lemon grass will give you strong and lasting smells that will also be natural. Aromatic oils on the other hand will give you medium to strong smells that will also last long. The only drawback with essential oils is that they are costlier than aromatic oils. The call is yours to take depending on your preferences and budget.
To prepare a body mist combine 150 ml of distilled water, 2 tablespoon vodka, six drops of an essential oil like rose oil, six drops of lavender oil, two drops vanilla essence and two drops of lemon essential oil.
