    Basic Steps For Skin Care Routine

There are basically three types of skins: dry, oily, and combination. You can consult a cosmetologist to determine your skin type. After that you can pick the skin products that target to your skin type.

    As we have to step out in the sun and battle with the pollution levels, our skin is sensitive it becomes dull and glow less because of that. Therefore skin care is essential. Gorgeous and flawless skin can be obtained after following the basic steps of skin care routine.

    Cleansing – Cleansing is done to remove oil, dirt, make up, dead cells and other impurities over the skin and thus helps the skin to breathe making the skin vulnerable to ageing, clogging and pigmentation. Cleansing should be done at least twice a day – morning and evening whether it is any type of skin. For different types of skin cleansing products are easily available in the market.

    Before starting with cleansing part you should wash your hands properly to prevent from bacterial infection. Massage gently in upward direction while starting up with hairline with light moments of your fingertips all over the face. Leave the cleanser for a minute or two on the face to get it absorbed by the skin so that the dirt and make up come out easily. Wash it off with the help of Luke warm water.

    Cleansers are available in the form of gel, soap, cleansing creams, face washes etc.

    Mechanically cleansing can be done by exfoliating the skin. Exfoliating is done to remove dead skin cells and oils to make skin newer, smoother and healthy. Scrubbing can be done once a week. It gives an instant difference in your skin.

    Toning – It is done immediately after cleansing. It helps to refresh the skin. Take cotton wool pads in a bowl containing toner and let it cool for some time in the refrigerator. Wipe your skin after cleansing with the soaked cotton pads. It will stimulate the blood circulation of face and neck, closes the pores and gives your skin porcelain like finishing.

    It is recommended for oily skin type and combination skin type only. Toners should not be used over dry skin as it is basically used to remove dirt and oil deeply from the skin. If it is used by people having dry skin, then it will result in more dryness in the skin.

    Moisturizing – Toning dries up the skin that is why moisturizing is necessary to replenish the lost moisture with the help of a good moisturizer or a hydrating cream. Moisturizing helps to plump your skin and boosts the cell performance. Moisturizer gives your skin a vibrant and youthful look by making the skin soft. Moisturizers vary for different types of skin.

    Moisturizer should also provide sun protection that is; it should contain SPF 15 or more. Oil free moisturizers are available especially meant for blemishes. Moisturizer should be applied gently all over the face and neck also. They can be used in any form whether cream or lotion depending upon the skin type. If you have dry skin, you can use cream based moisturizers and if you have oily skin, then you can opt for water-based or oil-free or non-greasy moisturizer.

    Nourishing – It includes massaging of your skin with the help of a nourishing cream which will stimulate blood circulation and provide relaxation to the muscles of face and neck and also relieve the visible signs of tiredness and ageing. Nourishing makes your skin glow as Massaging boosts your blood circulation and warms your skin and thus the creams or skin care products get absorbed deeply and faster. It reduces unattractive fleshiness as it helps in tightening of tissues and muscles.

    Other things you have to keep in mind while taking care of your skin are:

    1. Follow a healthy diet – you should have plenty of vitamins in your diet mainly vitamin A, C, D, and E.

    2. Keep yourself hydrated – water intake should be as much as you can.

    3. Exercise regularly – it will help your skin glow and breathe.

    4. Quit smoking – smoking leads to many skin problems therefore to get healthy and glowing skin one should stop smoking.
