Back Pain During Bowel Movement?
Many people with problem of constipation often feel pain in lower back while having bowel movement. Too much of stress exerted on the movement also causes the lower back pain. Bowel movement is associated with many types of lower back pain.
The lower back pain prior to excretion of fecal wastes from the body can be linked with misalignment in vertebrae or sub-luxations. This problem arises particularly with lower back becoming prone to a chronic postural stress leading to the locking of joints between vertebrae, tightening of surrounding muscles and irritation of nerves. This finally results in pain till their deterioration into condition of degenerative arthritis.
Sprains may also cause such pains. The physical activity or lack of postural imbalance may cause too much of stress on muscles of lower back resulting in the sprains. With the clearance of the bowel begin the contracting movements that intensify the pain by aggravating the strains. Milder strains go away within few days with the rest.
During constipation, the muscle contraction causes too much of stress and pressure on the back leading to back strain. Sometimes it can lead to severe health problems. In such a case constipation which is the underlying cause of the back pain should be treated. Take fiber containing foods and materials so as to make the bowel passage smooth and normal besides reducing stress on the back.
Facet syndrome is another factor behind back pain during bowel movement. The facet joints in the back that are responsible for allowing movements may cause development of arthritis due to too much of exertion or recurrent poor posture. This can be considered as a permanent back problem which cannot go away so easily.
Pain in back during bowel movement also occurs due to herniated or protruding disc. Any physical injury may weaken the cushion between the spinal bones resulting in back pain. This problem which may also be caused due to degenerative disc disease usually persists for a long time.
Sciatica-a condition that occurs when the pain passes through buttocks and posterior high while covering the lower leg and the foot is another factor behind back pain during bowel movement.
Moreover a tumor in the back or any other internal parts may also cause obstruction in smooth passage of stools leading to back pain during bowel movement.
Considering all such causative factors you must see a doctor if you continue to suffer back pain with bowel movement.
