Avoid Over Packing on Your Summer Vacation
The summer is here and every one is running around trying to find the prefect vacation destination to cool off. If you are trying to break away from a heat and headed out of town you definitely need to pack appropriately.
I stand by and watch families lug around endless number of luggage pieces when they head out for their vacations.
Is this actually necessary? Honestly, I don’t think you need to pack too much when you are on your vacation. A few essentials are enough while you are outdoors. I have a few tips that will help you to pack a lighter suitcase this year.
Firstly you need to make a list of the bare essentials. These are items that you cannot live without and must wear on your vacation. Women normally make new purchases for when they are headed to a new destination. Pack these items first and then fill in the gaps with other outfits. Pack 2 sets of clothes for every day that you are on vacation.
You can reduce the number of outfits you carry by packing a pair of jeans and several tops. In this way you can mix and match to create a new outfit all together. Also carry a few leggings with you so that you can accessorize your outfits accordingly.
You don’t need a closet full of shoes on your vacation; pack only 2 pairs. You will need one for the day and the other for your dinner dates. Pack a number of socks and underwear.
You may need extra pairs of socks incase it gets cold at night. Pack these tiny items well and lay them out in your suitcase to prevent them from occupying too much space.
If you are carrying accessories with you then ensure that they are all packed together so that you avoid scattering them around and loosing them. You may also want to avoid carrying items like precious stones, metals and other items of high value unless they are absolutely necessary. Don’t carry your entire make up kit either; only the essentials come along with you on your vacation while the others can sit around and rest at home.
Carry a book, your MP3 player and any other accessory that you may need to keep you busy when you are in transit.
Keep all your travel documents with you in your handbag so that you have them in hand when you need them.
