About Time Management
A lot of us keep fending for time and wish if only the 24hours in a day could be stretched to a few hours more so that we can comfortably fit in all our priorities, responsibilities and demands.
Most of us have to remain busy with a lot of things together at the same time simultaneously and juggling things may not come that well to everybody. Office pressures itself mount day by day with promotions and increments for which one has to plan strategies to manage well within the set limit of time.
For women who are shuttling between work, family and children has to know this skill of juggling too well. It may not be humanly possible to cater to a number of things simultaneously and this may leave us stressed, anxious, tensed, frustrated and nervous which may eventually spoil make us depressed. To deal with numerous responsibilities together we must equip ourselves with the skills of time management.
Time management is a technique of planning strategies to space and place all the responsibilities and cater to them effectively. The concept of time management initially just meant skills related to manage business and work well. Eventually time management has gained a broader scope and refers to personal time management as well.
Skills that cover time management are that of planning, goal setting, time allocation, delegation, organizing, scheduling, monitoring, prioritizing etc. Life being fast nowadays the most from everyone is expected and one who lags behind has to lose out on life therefore making time management all the more important.
Time management is not a difficult thing to perform; the term itself says it’s about managing time in the right way and management itself depends on good planning. Therefore proper planning is the back bone of time management.
Personal time management itself takes care of all the priorities in one’s life. One must definitely give up laziness and procrastination which means to push important work for a later time. Learning how to make the best use of time which waits for none forms the crux of time management.
One should write down important things to be done and prioritize them. One shouldn’t try to be a superhuman, learn how to say ‘no’ and also to delegate work. Effective decision making skills along with continuous self development equip one to manage time in the most efficient way.
