Home remedies for dark circles
1. Treatment of dark circles with cucumber
Cucumber is excellent for lightening the dark circles and brightening the skin around the eyes. Using the treatment is very simple. Take two thin slices of cucumber and place them over your closed eyelids. Leave for 15 minutes. After every few minutes keep poking the cucumber slices to draw the juices out.
The treatment will not only lighten the dark circles but also help you relax as you take in the effects of the cucumber juice. Remove the slices after 15 minutes and wash your eyes with cold water. You can do this treatment as many numbers of times through the day for quick results.
2. Treatment of dark circles using rosewater
Take a bottle of rosewater and put it in the refrigerator for an hour until the rosewater is cold. Take two cotton balls and soak them in the cold rosewater. Squeeze the cotton balls slightly and apply on the closed eyes. Leave for 10-15 minutes.
The cool and medicinal effects of rosewater will lighten the dark circles considerably when the treatment will be used regularly. Applying rosewater dipped cotton balls on the eyes is also a good remedy for tired and aching eyes. Cool effects of the rosewater will immediately brighten your eyes and prep you up.
3. Treatment of dark circles using potatoes
Take a small-sized potato and peel it. Wash the peeled and potato and then grate it. Lightly squeeze the grated potato so that when you apply it over your eyes the juices of the potato do not drip. Store the squeezed juice in a bowl and put in the refrigerator.
Place the grated potato over closed eyes and leave for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes remove the potato from the eyes and wash them with cold water. Now take two cotton balls and dip them in the potato juice stored in the refrigerator. The potato juice should be of cool temperature. Apply the cotton balls over closed eyes and again leave for 10 minutes. Wash off with cold water. Repeat this treatment every day for two weeks.
4. Treatment of dark circles using witch hazel infusion
Boil 200grams of witch hazel in 6 ounces of distilled water. Boil for 5-10 minutes. Remove the infusion from flame and allow to cool. Once the infusion cools down strain it and pour the resulting liquid in a spray bottle. Store this bottle in a refrigerator.
You can use the witch-hazel spray by spraying it directly over tired, aching pr burning eyes or you could spray some on cotton balls and cover your eyes with the cotton balls. Either way witch hazel is going to provide relief to tired eyes and also help with the problem of dark circles. You can even carry the bottle of spray with you and use the spray as many times as you wish.
5. Treatment of dark circles with Vitamin E oil
Rub vitamin E oil on the dark circles every night before going to bed. Vitamin E is excellent for curing many skin problems and has been proven beneficial for treating dark circles as well. Gently massage a few drops of oil on the skin of the eyes. Massage first in circular and then in anti-circular movements.
Take care not to let the oil inside the eyes. In the morning wash off the oil from the eyes using lukewarm water. If you don’t have Vitamin e oil then break two capsules of vitamin and apply the gel on the eyes. It will have the same lightening effect as Vitamin E oil.
6. Treatment of dark circles using almond oil
Warm a teaspoon of almond oil and rub it on the eyes massaging the eyes gently. Don’t be rough with the massage as muscles in the eyes are very delicate. Leave the almond oil overnight and wash off in the morning using lukewarm water.
Alternatively, you could also make a paste of four almonds and raw milk and apply it on the eyes leaving for 10-15 minutes. Wash off the paste with cold water and spray rosewater on the eyes. Use either of the treatments daily for two weeks.
